PREMIERE: Born Joy Dead Cover Office Do’s And Don’t’s In ‘Sourdough’ Video

Back in August, you may have caught the latest single Sourdough from Brissy outfit Born Joy Dead. Now, the boys have added a visual counterpart to the track, which gives us a thorough run down of what is and what isn’t OK in the office environments of 2016.

It’s like an Aussie version of The Office, set in the ’80s, equipped with paisley and plaid fabrics, stained coffee cups and crappy snacks. The Born Joy Dead boys take you through the basics of office etiquette – how to dress, how to be efficient, how to score a six in office cricket – and even perform the work party, with fittingly deadpan expressions, to an uninterested audience too keenly aware of the sometimes soul-sucking reality of office work life. Sometimes you just have to laugh at your own misery, amirite?

The track itself follows a similar narrative with the band lamenting the concept of raging at the nine to five grind in a job you fkn hate, especially when you’ve got that taste of doing what you love with the people you love.

Already Born Joy Dead’s music video game is proving strong. Previous single Chains On You scored an equally as lol set of visuals directed by some of the gang from The John Steel Singers.

For now though, pass this one on to your colleagues who need a little office etiquette PSA.
