Prince’s Sister Is Coming To Australia For Two Huge Tribute Shows

Prince Rogers Nelson‘s sister Tyka Nelson has revealed she is coming to Australia later this year for two world exclusive tribute shows in honour of her late sibling.

The ‘Nothing Compares 2 Prince’ shows will take place at the Sydney Opera House and Melbourne’s Hamer Hall this April, a week after the second anniversary of Prince’s death on 21st April 2016.

Celebrating the music of Prince, the concerts will see The Purple One’s best-known songs performed by musicians and singers who joined him at various points in his career. Organisers say there will also be a “special, never heard before tribute by Tyka to her late brother”.

“I am very excited about coming to Australia to celebrate the life of my brother with you,” says Tyka.

“Prince loved your country and enjoyed playing there! I look forward to joining the other wonderful singers and musicians on stage for ‘Nothing Compares 2 Prince’, and I hope to see and hug as many of Prince’s fans as I can off stage!”

The ‘Nothing Compares 2 Prince’ shows will feature 12 performers, including the likes of musical director St. Paul Peterson, who was chosen by Prince to appear in ‘Purple Rain’ and was later the original voice of ‘Nothing Compares 2 U’; Cassandra O’Neal, former keyboardist for Prince And The New Power Generation; and Tori Ruffin, lead guitarist of Morris Day & The Time.
