Queen Tease Three Unreleased Songs In New Compilation Trailer

A new trailer for Queen‘s upcoming love song compilation, Queen Forever, has been released. The trailer features samples of the three previously unreleased tracks set for the album, including the Freddie Mercury/Michael Jackson duet There Must Be More to Life Than This, which was previewed last month.

In addition to the long-awaited completed version of There Must Be More to Life Than This, the album also includes Let Me in Your Heart Again, taken from the sessions for 1984’s The Works, and a reworked version of a Mercury solo tune titled Love Kills, which was co-written with disco legend Giorgio Moroder.

According to Adam Lambert, the rendition of Love Kills featured on the album will eschew the “disco production” contributed by Moroder. “[May and Taylor] turned it into more of a traditional Queen arrangement. It’s an amazing song, very dramatic and powerful,” he recently told Rolling Stone.

Meanwhile, the Brian May-penned Let Me in Your Heart Again started life as a lone Mercury vocal track, the remnants of a recording session that remained uncompleted for decades. Guitarist May and drummer Roger Taylor recently went back into the studio to record new guitar parts and backing vocals.

The band first revealed their plans for the unreleased Mercury tunes back in May, when Brian May told the BBC, “We found a few more tracks with Freddie singing and all of us playing and they are quite beautiful. It is the big, big ballads and the big, big epic sound. It wouldn’t have been if we hadn’t have done this restoration job. We had to start from scratch because we only had scraps. But knowing how it would have happened if we had finished it, I can sit there and make it happen with modern technology.”

Queen Forever is slated for an Australian release on Friday, 7th November. The LP will be available as a 20-track single CD and a 36-track two-CD set, focusing on some of the legendary British group’s lesser-known tracks, with a particular focus on ballads and love songs such as Mother Love and The Miracle.
