Disgraced R&B star R. Kelly has been freed from lockup in a Chicago jail after coughing up a whopping US $100,000 (AUS $139,762) bail.

ICYMI the singer was arrested and charged with ten counts of aggravated sexual abuse last week — allegedly committed against multiple victims, at least three of whom were aged between 13 and 16 — and he has since entered a plea of not guilty to all charges.

The 52-year-old originally could not make bail after his bond was set at US $1 million, with his lawyer Steve Greenberg reporting that the singer’s legal issues have left his finances a “mess”.

But he has since rustled up 10% of the amount and walked free, with the BBC reporting that Kelly refused to speak to media as he was escorted from jail by his lawyer.

It comes after footage was obtained by Chicago prosecutors that allegedly showed Kelly sexually assaulting an underage girl.

Michael Avenatti, a lawyer representing two of the singer’s alleged victims, has since revealed on Twitter that he will be handing over a second video allegedly showing Kelly sexually assaulting another minor.

If Kelly is found guilty of all the charges against him, he could faced up to 70 years in prison.
