Radar Radio Goes Multi-Platform

Southern Cross Austereo’s digital network RADAR RADIO will launch a new expanded service this week.

The station will now be available across multiple platforms as of this Saturday January 14.

Before digital radio launched back in 2008, Radar was broadcasting online only playing unsigned bands with no announcers. 2009 saw the uptake of digital radio and Radar got on board rolling out the service across the country. Along with that expansion came a re-branding of the network from ‘unsigned music’ to ‘new music’ plus a host guiding listeners through the playlists.

2012 sees Radar’s biggest growth yet with Ella Hooper (ex Killing Heidi) now behind the mic transmitting to 44 national FM stations five nights a week on the Today Network, across selected regional TV stations, on digital radio 24/7, online via radarmusic.com.au and right across mobile and social media applications.

Speaking with The Music Network, Southern Cross Austereo’s Head of Metro Radio, Guy Dobson said, “each slice of content will be tailor-made for the relevant medium that will subsequently offer the best available experience for the Radar brand lover.”
