Randy Newman Announces ‘An Evening With Randy Newman’ Australian Tour

Acclaimed songwriter Randy Newman has announced a series of ‘An Evening With Randy Newman’ tour dates for 2020, coming to Australia in January and February.

It’s the first Australian tour since 2011 for Newman, who, in addition to his extensive back catalogue of songs that range from dryly satirical to heartbreaking, has composed scores for all four Toy Story films (including the classic ‘You’ve Got a Friend in Me’) along with Monsters Inc, A Bug’s Life and more.

For his work, Newman has received seven Grammys, three Emmys and two Academy Awards, and has been inducted into both the Songwriters Hall of Fame and Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

Newman’s last release was 2017’s Dark Matter, which marked the first album of new material by Newman in a decade and included Grammy Award-winning song ‘Putin’. More recently, Newman collaborated with Rex Orange County on his version of ‘You’ve Got a Friend in Me’ in 2018, and this year he collaborated with Chance the Rapper on ‘5 Year Plan’ from The Big Day.
