Rapper Troy Ave has been arrested after the New York Police department released footage of the shooting that took place at T.I.’s concert in Irving Plaza just days ago.
After initial reports suggested that four people suffered injuries, it has now been confirmed that three people were shot along with Ave himself – with police also revealing the identity of the man who died to be 33-year old Ronald McPhatter. McPhatter, the bodyguard and long time friend of Ave, was shot in the stomach.
A 26-year old woman was shot in the leg whilst another man took fire to his abdomen, however both are expected to make full recoveries. Ave also managed to shoot himself in the leg.
T.I. issued a statement following the shooting, sending his condolences to the victims and their families. “Our music is intended to save lives, like it has mine and many others,” he wrote.
The short clip, released by the NYPD, shows Ave walking into a room and revealing his firearm, before discharging the weapon as he walks further into the room.
Police have also reported that five 9mm casings were recovered from the scene, but have not confirmed whether there was another shooter at the scene or not.
