Rapper Black Rob Dies, Aged 51

Former Bad Boy Records rapper, Black Rob has died, aged 51-years-old. Friends of the rapper, Mark Curry and DJ Self confirmed the news via social media, after TMZ initially reported it.

The cause of death is still unknown, however, Black Rob had been filmed in a hospital bed a week ago.

In the video, he’s clearly in a lot of pain and trying to describe it. He paid tribute to DMX in the same video saying, “big love”.

DJ Self, who posted the video to his Instagram updated fans later saying he was out of hospital.

“This is no where to shame anyone or show off a person at there low point just simply to get help there have been a few top celebrities who reached out to help thank you,” he wrote.

“Black Rob kidneys are failing again I’m here just to send out the message to see if someone can help he wanted me to post a video to tell you what’s wrong w him but is having a hard time doing so.”

Rob detailed his health issues in another video shared by DJ Self.

“Oh man, I’ve been dealing with this for five years. Four strokes. I don’t know what to tell you man,” he says.

“Shit is crazy. The shit is hard. I don’t got no house to live in — except maybe an apartment.

“Me and my man be trying to get together. I’m telling you man, this shit is strange. It’s hard, you know what I’m saying?”

“I need some rest, man.”

Black Rob was best known for his song ‘Whoa!’. He also featured on Diddy’s song ‘Bad Boy for Life’ with Mark Curry.

Rob was signed to the same label as Diddy and Curry, Bad Boy Records.

He was also a father to four children: Kayli, Rianna, Diamond, and Million.
