Liberation Music have confirmed that Australia’s own Dan Sultan will unveil his latest full-length studio effort, Blackbird, on Friday, 4th April. Sultan’s third album, a fresh start for the Melbournite, takes its name from the famous Nashville studio where it was recorded.

“It’s like therapy,” said Sultan of the album. “You go through what you’re going through and that can be pretty heavy. And then you write about what you’ve been through, which can be therapeutic. Readers can check out the first taste of the new record, Under Your Skin, below.

Drowners – Drowners

New York-based post-punkers Drowners have unveiled the unique picture-in-picture double video, directed by acclaimed photographer Pete Voelker, for their single, A Button On Your Blouse, to celebrate the release of their self-titled debut, due Friday, 14th February.

“I always think of this one as our ballad even though it’s not even that slow,” says frontman Matthew Hitt of the new single. “It brings across this sort of jovial misery. It’s kind of pop, like a lot of the rest of the record, but lyrically, it’s not as shiny as seems,” he adds.

Hellyeah Announce New Album

The inimitable Hellyeah have announced that they are nearing the completion of their upcoming fourth album, promising fans that they will soon be delivering something fresh and new, produced in Las Vegas, Nevada with Ozzy Osbourne producer Kevin Churko.

“The new HELLYEAH record is our very best,” said iconic drummer Vinnie Paul. “This record is heavy and diverse. It was an honor working with Kevin Churko…everything we did on this record was from a different perspective. Kevin really pushed and got the best out of us.”

“Hellyeah has really come into this record with a hunger. They’re putting everything they have into it. They’ve really impressed me both with the tracks…and with their drive to make them even better,” said Churko. The as-yet untitled album will be released Friday, 25th April.
