Sydney’s RedHook Unleash Heavy New Banger ‘Only Bones’, Announce Debut National Headline Tour

Nu-metal outfit RedHook have unveiled new single ‘Only Bones’ along with detailing their debut national headline tour.

The news comes as the genre-defiant band have just wrapped up their debut UK/European tour, including a slot at Download fest in the UK. It’s been a pretty good 9 months for the band, a period that’s also seen them play inaugural Good Things and Download festivals in Australia along with national tours supporting Hands Like Houses, Ocean Grove, The Faim and US rockers Sevendust.

Musically, ‘Only Bones’ is another sonically diverse cut from the four-piece that takes its cues from everything between rap-rock and electro-pop. With huge riffs and EDM-influenced production providing a frenetic backdrop for singer Emmy Mack’s melodic hooks, it’s a dark and theatrical affair that’s as much Marilyn Manson as it Billie Eilish.

Mack says the song is her “venting my frustrations at the bloodsuckers in our lives who don’t care if we’re OK or not as long as we give them what they want, but also at myself for being somehow incapable of standing firm and telling them to kindly fuck off.”

“It’s for anyone who’s ever felt taken advantage of and wished they could be stronger.”

RedHook’s upcoming national tour is their first ever headline jaunt across the country, with a six-date run this August and September taking them to Adelaide, Perth, Port Hedland, Melbourne and Newcastle before returning for a hometown show in Sydney.

Check out tour dates and watch the video for ‘Only Bones’ below. Tickets are on sale now through the band’s website.

Just FYI, RedHook singer Emmy Mack is also a treasured part of the writing team here at Music Feeds.
