ICYMI: Remi crashed triple J’s Good Az Friday romp to kick of the Easter long weekend yesterday and delivered easily the most hilariously awesome Like A Version of the year so far.
Performing live in front of a bulk crowd at Melbourne’s Town Hall, the hip-hop gun donned a white silk shirt to bust out an Australian-ised rendish of SisQó‘s classic 2000 number #1-hit-wonder ‘Thong Song’ and take us all back to our school disco heydays.
Kicking off with some giggle-inducing adjustments to the spoken-word intro, shouting out to “all the ladies out there with sand in their toes and thongs on the soles of their feet”, Remi launched into a thumping rendition of the cheesy choon with an incredible backing band of string & horn players, not to mention the Super Saiyan vocals of Jace Excell (whose smooth-as-butter tones you may remember from Thundamentals’ 2012 tune ‘How You Been?’)
Check it out below and catch Remi touring live with Sampa The Great this June and July.
