Triple J icon, Richard Kingsmill, won’t be around at the station for the first half of 2012. In a press release today, Triple J announced Kingsmill would be taking long service leave and that The Acting Music Director role will be filled by Nick Findlay, who will step up from the Assistant Music Director’s position.
Kingsmill has been working for Triple J for nearly 23 years and is the station’s longest serving presenter. He has held the Music Director’s Position for 8 years and, according to the press release, he’ll be ‘enjoying a break, travelling and living overseas’ for the first half of 2012.
Nick Findlay has been working as Kingsmill’s assistant for the past 5 years and has excelled in the position. If Kingsmill isn’t careful, he might not have a job when he returns …
