Ruby Fields Is Playing A Series Of Wedding-Themed Shows At A Bowlo Next Month

Last week, singer-songwriter Ruby Fields returned with ‘Pretty Grim’, her first single since the ‘Dinosaurs’-featuring Permanent Hermit last year. The track arrived alongside a Jamieson Kerr-directed music video depicting a tiny, chaotic wedding ceremony.

Fittingly, Fields has today announced a trio of wedding-themed shows, set to take place at Wombarra Bowling Club in Wollongong next month. Sydney punks SCABZ will open all three shows.

The poster strongly encourages punters dress in wedding attire for the shows, which run from Friday, 16th October to Sunday, 18th October. Tickets go on sale from 9am this Wednesday.

Upon the release of ‘Pretty Grim’, Fields commented that the song “targets mental health and not yet having found a balance with drinking and so on. From memory I was a bit lost at the time and hadn’t felt anything in awhile.”

“When you’re fresh out of high school and get shoved in front of the country with a megaphone you definitely make some cringe worthy mistakes. I threw myself in the deep end and saw some of the most heartbreaking and beautiful things,” she continued.

“Definitely shoved me right back into my privilege sized pigeonhole and I came back really determined to write new music.”
