Ryan Adams Names New LP ‘Ashes & Fire’

Ryan Adams, who in recent months has been taking fairly tentative steps back from the ‘retirement’ he announced after the Cardinology album in 2008, has a name for his new album, with Consequence of Sound reporting that the new LP will be called Ashes & Fire.

Adams has been working with producer Glyn Johns for the new record, one of the most illustrious engineers to have walked the earth and the father of Ethan Johns, who produced Adams’ albums Heartbreaker, Gold, Demolition and 29.

CoS reports that the latest edition of Q magazine states that Ashes & Fire will feature “12 elegant country-rock songs, featuring Tom Petty And The Heartbreakers’ organist Benmont Tench and guest co-vocalist Norah Jones.

Jones worked with Adams previously on the Jacksonville City Nights album on the song Dear John, which you can hear below.

Adams also recently showed the world covers of Vampire Weekend songs Oxford Comma and Mansard Roof.
