In 2011, She & Him – the musical collaboration between Zooey Deschanel and M. Ward – released their first Christmas album, A Very She & Him Christmas, featuring covers of holiday standards such as ‘Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas’ and ‘Blue Christmas’.
One of the tracks included was ‘Christmas Day’, which is in fact a Beach Boys song penned by Brian Wilson and shared on the band’s 1964 release The Beach Boys’ Christmas Album.
Last night, Deschanel and Ward took to the Jimmy Kimmel Live stage to perform an extremely charming rendition of the song live.
In 2016, She & Him followed up A Very She & Him Christmas with their second festive-themed album, Christmas Party. It included covers of Mariah Carey’s ‘All I Want for Christmas Is You’ among other holiday classics.
