The Shins are getting ready to kick it again, gearing up for what looks like a massive return to prominence in 2017.
After announcing their first album since 2012 will be released next year, and debuting new material during their first live shows in over three years, the US indie rockers have now shared a mysterious video teaser online.
The grainy clip (below) includes a snippet of what sounds like new music from the group, and ends with the weird-ass title “I Gleek On Your Grave”.
It marks the second time that the odd phrase has appeared on a slice of Shins promo, after the band posted a trippy-ass Instagram video with the same title a few weeks back.
New album or song title, perhaps? Time will tell.
Singer James Mercer recently touched on The Shins’ new album, saying: “I’m really excited about this record. I think we’ve got something that Shins fans will really love, and I think there are some other things on there that are different enough.”
He also added that the album will be more similar to the band’s first three LPs, rather than the poppier Port Of Morrow (2012).
