Japanese punk band Shonen Knife have announced an Australian headline tour for 2024. The tour will begin at Vinnie’s Dive on the Gold Coast on Wednesday, 21st November, before visiting Brisbane, Canberra, Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide and Margaret River. The tour concludes at Perth’s Milk Bar on Saturday, 3rd March.
The tour will mark Shonen Knife’s first Australian tour since November 2019 and their fifth visit overall since 1997. Find all the details below
Shonen Knife released their 20th album Our Best Place in February
Originating in Osaka, Japan, in 1981, Shonen Knife’s music contains elements of 1960s doo wop, pop, The Beatles, and early punk rock. Their catalogue features songs in both Japanese and English. In February 2023, the Osakans released their 20th album, Our Best Place.
Even after decades in the industry, Shonen Knife remain a highly regarded band in Japan and continue to influence indie rock acts around the world.
