Sigur Rós Announce the ‘Valtari Hour’ Live Stream – May 17, 2012

In very exciting and cool news, Icelandic quartet Sigur Rós have announced an official live stream of their 6th studio record Valtari, which is slated for release on May 28, 2012.

According to numerous reports, Sigur Rós will unveil their new record via the Valtari Hour website on May 17 (tomorrow) at 7pm for each time zone in the world.

The Space Labs notes that Sigur Rós will broadcast a live stream “every hour, on the hour” to ensure each time zone can experience the new record at 7pm.

DIY have dubbed the event as a “rolling listening party” and says that, along with the official streaming website, Valtari will also be debuted by selected record stores, radio stations and media outlets.

Yesterday, Music Feeds posted a clip from TV series The Vampire Diaries, which features the track Dauðalogn from the upcoming new record.

Music Feeds also announced that Sigur Rós will be coming to Australia to promote Valtari, though no tour dates have been released at this stage.

Once again the Valtari Hour will take place via the event’s official website, which features a clock counting down to the live stream.
