Skyways Are Highways Announce New EP ‘So Young’ + EP Launch Gig

Skyways Are Highways have announced the release of their latest EP, titled So Young, due on Friday, 17th May, simultaneously revealing the splendid news that they’ll be launching the EP in their local stomping grounds of Fitzroy with a sure-to-be-pumping gig on the very same day So Young drops.

This sunshine punk duo straight outta Byron combines the mad guitar skills of frontman Eli J. Hood and the punishing drumming power of Angie Brown to create fuzzed-out thumpers built on accessible songwriting sensibilities. Skyways Are Highways have a definite ’60s surf punk-inspired sound, combined with the perfect harmonies and clean lines of ’90s power pop and classic earworm hooks reminiscent of the heydays of the SoCal punk scene.

Over the last year, Skyways Are Highways’ high-energy sugar hits Wild Animals and If You Get Caught We Never Met have been getting the attention of local media and triple j Unearthed, with none other than Richard Kingsmill proclaiming that the band’s music “keeps getting better the more I hear it”. We couldn’t agree more, Mr Kingsmill (and who are we to argue?).

Sounds good, right? Right! So get yourself down to the So Young EP launch show at The Evelyn Hotel on Brunswick St, Fitzroy on Friday, 17th May, supported by Diamonds Of Neptune, Clowns and Ceres. Tickets are available now via Moshtix.
