A second round announcement of Soundwave 2012 bands will be announced on Wednesday night (19th October) at 10pm. Originally the line-up was due for December, but it looks like Soundwave may want to get it in early, to grab possible punters who haven’t quite decided if they want to get Big Day Out 2012 tickets instead.

The second line-up has been described as being “primnarrily [sic] punk rock”, and being a mixture of “real” punk rock as well as newer “pop-punk” bands.
@iamnotshouting: “Yep. Wednesday night’s announcement is primnarrily punk rock.”
The replacement for Hole will also be announced after it became clear yesterday that Courtney Love would not be comfortable sharing a line-up with Fred Durst and his band Limp Bizkit.
So far reaction to the first round of bands has been positive, and it will be interesting to see if Maddah and co. could possibly drop any more surprises on us for this announcement.
Tickets will go on sale to the General Public Thursday 20th October.
