Soundwave 2014 Lineup Coming Friday Afternoon, Another Band Revealed?

The Soundwave 2014 lineup will be announced this Friday, 23rd August at 1:15pm, allowing fans to get some sleep before they start losing their minds. The drop date was announced via the official Soundwave Festival Twitter page, who tweeted “It’s a Date! Find out who will be gracing Soundwave Stages in 2014 this Friday at around 1.15pm.”

This comes after Soundwave promoter AJ Maddah may just have revealed another band slated for the bill, after a brief Twitter interaction with the American metalcore band Iwrestledabearonce.

After Maddah tweeted “I feel like Will Ferrell’s character in Semi-Pro. What should i do for 2nd announcement, wrestle a bear?” the band responded playfully, saying “bear wrestling you say? you should probabaly just wrestle US. On stage. At Soundwave. Hmmmm?!?” It’s not clear as to whether this means Iwrestledabearonce is on the SW14 roster or if the band is merely coyly vying for a spot.

Further stoking speculation on the nature of this year’s lineup, the notoriously outspoken festival mogul Maddah, once again took to Twitter to announce a potential deal struck with Channel V, tweeting “Cunts at @channelv want me to announce #SW14 line-up live on air this Friday wearing only a diaper… :(”

Still unclear as to what it may mean for the lineup but a reply from Channel V indicates that it’s of the utmost importance, telling Maddah “We won’t let you in the building unless you do it.”

Music Feeds is thinking the headliner might have a particularly extreme stage setup, like we all heard Marilyn Manson did in the 90s.
