Stream Enter Shikari’s New Single ‘The Last Garrison’

English alt metal act Enter Shikari have unveiled their latest track, The Last Garrison, the first single to be taken off of their upcoming fourth studio record, The Mindsweep, due out in January 2015.

Speaking recently about the direction of the record, frontman Rou Reynolds says the band “pushed ourselves vocally with some of the rawest angriest vocals we’ve ever done as well as some of the most dulcet and delicate”.

“Melody and aggression will always be an important side of what we do, but with this album there was also a concerted effort to concentrate on texture too.” The Last Garrison definitely showcases both of those vocal facets while its lyrics detail the band’s determination to appreciate life.

“Life can often seem like a tumultuous onslaught of ups and downs; good and bad; euphoric and arduous,” Rou Reynolds says of the tack, as reported by New Noise Magazine. “Our circumstances can change in a flicker of an eyelid. Sometimes it’s beneficial to take a step back from everything and appreciate the honour that we’re still alive.”

The Mindsweep will be available in Australia in both digital and physical forms on Friday, 16th January. Stream the first single The Last Garrison below.
