Stream Laura Marling’s New Album ‘Once I Was An Eagle’

Laura Marling’s new album, Once I Was An Eagle, is available to stream ahead of the record’s release this Friday, 24th May. The fourth studio album from the UK musician in just 5 years, Once I Was An Eagle spans 63 minutes with Marling recording all guitar and vocal parts in 1 day.

Once I Was An Eagle was produced by Ethan Johns (Ryan Adams/Kings of Leon) and recorded at his Three Crows Studio in the UK. Speaking to The Guardian, the 23-year-old Marling said Once I Was An Eagle is her most unguarded work to date:

“This album is definitely a step towards being more… plain in my songwriting, I suppose. As I’ve gotten older, more comfortable with myself, I’ve become more comfortable channelling honesty into songwriting.”

Australian fans will be among some of the first in the world to hear the new material live when Marling performs as part of Splendour In The Grass 2013. While in the country the 23-year-old singer will play a handful of Splendour sideshows inside Australian churches and cathedrals, including some SA and WA shows.

All 16 tracks of Once I Was An Eagle by Laura Marling can be streamed via NPR.
