Surfer Blood Cut Back The Fuzz, Increase The Hooks On New Single ‘Gravity’

Confirmed Splendour In The Grass participants Surfer Blood are gearing up to unveil their sophomore album Pythons. Slated for a Friday, 14th June release, the record has already spawned one single, Demon Dance, and today brings news of another. Gravity has found its way online and you can check it out below.

The band are showing noticeable signs of growth between albums, with Gravity seeing them turn down their trademark fuzz, which defined their debut Astro Coast, for a much more polished sound. Rest assured, the track isn’t too produced, but you’ll see what we mean. It’s simple, catchy and probably beachy enough to keep you warm as they play the cold, cold stages of SITG.

The band teamed up with Gil Norton (Pixies, Foo Fighters, Patti Smith) for the album, which is a good reason to believe it will be well within the definition of ‘awesome’.

The band won’t just be hitting up Splendour. They’ve also announced a cheeky run of headlining tour dates in Sydney and Melbourne.
