ORIGINAL STORY: Sydney hip-hop artist Scepaz has been identified as the man found dead in the middle of a street in the Sydney suburb of Forest Lodge on Friday afternoon.
The 30-year-old rapper, real name Jett McKee, was reportedly heard fighting with a man and a woman inside a house around lunchtime that day. Witnesses say they saw him walking down the street, bloody-faced, before collapsing.
ABC reports that a man and a woman are on the run, but police say that they have been identified. They also say that the man, the woman and McKee all knew each other.
Scepaz was well known in the local hip-hop community, with triple j‘s Hau Latukefu taking to Facebook to post a tribute.
“Over the weekend, I was saddened to hear the passing of Sydney artist, Scepaz,” Latukefu wrote.
“I would see him at gigs, play his music on the show and he was always respectful. I know how hard it is to lose a loved one, especially at such a young age, so I’d like to wish strength & love to his family, crew and supporters. Blessings.”
