Sydney’s super-small music and arts venue The Newsagency closed its doors recently, but has now announced that it will soon reopen in a new location.
After the Marrickville venue’s lease ends in July, it will relocate to a new spot in Camperdown, and is currently on the lookout for bookings of “all kids of performance” to begin on 1st July.
In a statement, The Newsagency’s Alison Avron says she is preparing to take “this exciting but nerve wrecking step”.
The new Newsagency (hey, maybe that’d be a good new name?) will be able to hold up to 100 people (which is a lot more than its capacity was in Marrickville), will have a new PA system, and will also remain a BYO and artist-led space.
