Tame Impala Share New Song ‘Eventually’, Confirm New Album Details

Your Friday morning is about to get sweeter now that Perth psych rockers Tame Impala have shared another song from their forthcoming album Currents. The tasty new cut is called Eventually.

The sprawling, and dreamy five minute track follows on from previously unveiled tracks ‘Cause I’m a Man, Let It Happen and Disciples – a song frontman Kevin Parker sneakily revealed during a Reddit AMA.

Parker actually spoke about Eventually during that Reddit AMA, saying it was “still very moving for me to listen to even after 951520974 listens and mixes”.

He had previously outlined how he came up with the idea for the breakup song came up with the song on the back of a scooter.

“The song is about knowing that you’re about to damage someone almost irreparably, and the only consolation you get is this distant hope that they’ll be alright eventually, because you know they aren’t going to be now or soon,” he said.

Along with the new song, Tame Impala also provided a link to the album’s official Australian pre-order page, which confirms details previously published on a leaked Japanese iTunes page. The information confirms that the highly anticipated Currents will be release on Friday 17th July, spans 13 tracks and clocks in at about 51 minutes.

Tame Impala will return to Australia, with new material in hand, as a part of the massive Splendour In The Grass lineup.
