Tame Impala's Kevin Parker & More Join Laneway Festival's Local Lineups

Laneway Festival‘s 2018 music lineup just keeps on growing, with the festival today adding even more acts to its roster, including a sneaky appearance from Tame Impala mastermind Kevin Parker.

Today’s new additions — which also include the likes of Basenji, Haiku Hands and UV boi — are courtesy of the Laneway BLOCK PARTY, which is essentially a party within a party which will be held at this year’s Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Fremantle events.

Curated by Red Bull Music and I OH YOU, the BLOCK PARTY lineups will see some up-and-coming acts perform across the country, with Kevin Parker (AKA DJ Defs Worth It) set to drop some tunes in Fremantle.

Explaining the idea behind the Laneway BLOCK PARTY, festival co-founder Danny Rogers says, “There was such a creative, magic feeling at the original Laneway Festivals. I think it was because of the spontaneity they had. I wanted to recreate that same feeling at the 2018 event and this idea just made total sense.

“We booked the line-up over three days and it came together perfectly. I was already very excited for this year’s Laneway, but BLOCK PARTY turns things up to a whole new level.”

Today’s Laneway Festival additions (which you can peep in full below) come after organisers added five new acts to their main lineups earlier this month.

Laneway Festival is set to hit Adelaide, Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane and Fremantle in February. Catch the full festival lineup below, and all the Laneway sideshows right here.
