The Amity Affliction Tease Download Festival 2019 Appearance & “F*cking Crazy” Headline Tour

The Amity Affliction have let slip that they will perform as part of the 2019 edition of Download Festival Australia, while also teasing a “f*cking crazy” lineup for an upcoming headline tour of their own.

Speaking on triple j this morning, Amity members Joel Birch and Ahren Stringer appeared to accidentally mention their spot on the lineup for Download Festival, which is scheduled to hit Sydney and Melbourne in March.

“The only Australian shows we’re doing are for Download… I probably shouldn’t have said that,” Birch said.

“This is why I shouldn’t be allowed on radio.”

Confusingly, speaking with Wall Of Sound, Birch previously said the band “won’t be in Australia until late next year” for a headline tour.

“We just want to make it something special,” he said.

“We’ve been working on the lineup since before we recorded the album, and we’re part of the way there. The lineup is pretty fucking crazy.

“We just wanna make sure it’s something a bit bigger than normal, and hopefully we’ll be bringing something to the table that is sort of like a thank you at the same time as the usual tour.”

Birch’s comments come after a fake The Amity Affliction headline tour poster began circulating online earlier this month, before Amity released their latest album Misery on Friday, 24th August.
