The Black Keys’ 11th Album Is Out In May, Hear The First Single Now

The Black Keys will release their 11th album, Dropout Boogie, on Friday, 13th May, through Nonesuch Records. It’s Dan Auerbach and Patrick Carney’s third LP in the space of three years. The album’s lead single, ‘Wild Child’, is out now. Watch the official music video below.

Dropout Boogie includes guest appearances from ZZ Top’s Billy F. Gibbons, Reigning Sound’s Greg Cartwright and Kings of Leon producer Angelo Petraglia.

The Black Keys released their tenth album, Delta Kream, in May 2021. The quick turnaround between releases is nothing new for the duo from Akron, Ohio. In fact, The Black Keys’ albums have often come in clumps. They started their career with The Big Come Up in 2002. Thickfreakness followed in 2003 and Rubber Factory in 2004.

The band’s Nonesuch debut, Magic Potion, arrived in 2006. Even as the band’s popularity began to blossom, their releases continued to arrive at a relatively fast clip. Attack & Release dropped in 2008, followed by Brothers in 2010 and El Camino in 2011.

Some down time was warranted after the glut of global touring in the wake of El Camino’s multi-Platinum success. Turn Blue surfaced in 2014, while it was another five years until we got album nine, Let’s RockDropout Boogie lands one days prior to the 20th anniversary of The Big Come Up.
