The Black Keys Finally Bring Their Latest Albums To Spotify

Notorious critics of free music streaming, The Black Keys, have finally agreed to have their latest albums available for streaming on Spotify.

As Billboard points out, up until now, only six of The Black Keys’ eight studio album were available on Spotify, and now 2011’s El Camino and 2014’s Turn Blue have been approved for streaming.

Taking to Twitter, The Black Keys’ Patrick Carney says the decision comes “after five years of struggling”, and because he’d “rather people hear our music than not”.

“No advance or money was exchanged. I’m still an advocate for artists to be paid fairly. I’m still apprehensive,” Carney adds.

In June this year, Carney took to Twitter to say, “A sell out in my book in 2016 is anyone that takes a share in a streaming company who also is an artist and doesn’t advocate for fair pay.”
