The Kid LAROI, Genesis Owusu & King Stingray Lead 2022 NME Awards Nominees

The Australian nominees for next year’s BandLab NME Awards are in, and a range of Aussie heavyweights, including The Kid LAROI, Genesis Owusu and King Stingray, are leading the list of nominees.

Sponsored by BandLab, the awards ceremony is set to take place at the famed O2 Academy Brixton in London on Wednesday, 2nd March 2022. It will be the first time the awards ceremony has taken place in two years, with the 2021 event being cancelled due to the pandemic.

The last round of awards back in 2020 saw the introduction of Australia-specific categories, being: Best Album, Best Song, Best Solo Act, Best Band, Best New Artist, and Best Festival.

Only five of those categories are returning for the 2022 edition of the awards, with artists being nominated for awards in the categories of Best Australian Album, Best Australian Song, Best Australian Band, Best Australian Solo Act, and Best New Australian Act.
