The Paper Kites Announce National Tour Dates

Melbourne’s much loved folk five-piece, The Paper Kites have enjoyed a whirlwind six months since the release of their highly anticipated debut album, States. Following on from a successful headline tour of North America as well as an illustrious support slot alongside City and Colour, the Melburnian quintet closed out the festive season gracing the stages of Falls Festival and Southbound.

Now the band are set to bring their mesmerising live show to the Australian masses once again with an all ages national tour covering all major cities. Commencing in Newcastle and winding down in their hometown of Melbourne, The Paper Kites are sure to deliver one hell of a mind trip for your viewing pleasure.

Just to recap the stats, reigning in at #17 on the ARIA Charts, debut album States received a number of impressive accolades for sophomore single, Young, including a J Award nomination for Australian Music Video of The Year as well as ranking 27th in Rage’s Top 50 Music Videos of 2013.

With a strong reputation for creating innovative and mesmerising video clips, which have attracted over 10 million YouTube views, The Paper Kites live presence is just as impressive and their national tour is sure to sell out fast.

UPDATE 9:08pm 26/03/14: The Paper Kites have announced Phebe Starr and Airling as their supports for their highly anticipated upcoming tour. Starr has been going from strength to strength, drawing comparisons to everyone from Kate Bush, to Kraftwerk and The Cure.

Meanwhile, Airling aka Hannah Shepherd joined by Brisbane multi-instrumentalist Graham Ritchie, will be bringing their lush mix of otherworldly vocals, rich electronics, and dreamy beats to this already sterling lineup. Shepherd is fresh off the release of her debut single, Ouroboros.
