Melbourne’s punk rock sons The Smith Street Band are one of more than 70 new international acts added to the 2015 Reading and Leeds Festival bill.
The foursome join an already mammoth lineup headlined by metal titans Metallica and the newly electrified Mumford & Sons, and buffered by fellow new additions Alt-J, Palma Violets, Twin Atlantic, Charli XCX and Baby Metal.
The Smith Streeters are the fourth Aussie act added to the UK juggernaut’s 2015 programme, alongside electronic duo Knife Party, indie group Little May and Sydney three-piece DMA’s.
“HEY TEAM, HOLY SHIT, WE’RE PLAYING READING & LEEDS!!” the band posted on their official Facebook page. “Can’t get enough of the UK!”
