The Superjesus Announce First New Material In Over A Decade

Adelaide rockers The Superjesus — you remember them, right? They wrote Secret Agent Man and Gravity — anyway, they’re returning from over a decade of quiet with a new single this month, and a new EP later this year.

As The Music Network reports, the ARIA Award-winning band have signed to Aussie independent label Social Family Records, and will release a new single called The Setting Sun on 19th June. The track will be included in a new EP the band are currently working on.

In a statement, The Superjesus say they’re ready to rock and roll once again. “The band’s amped to be back in the game with new material, it’s been a long time coming,” they say. “The Social Family Records crew are sharp and creative and we are all very excited to see what possibilities unfold from here on.”

The Superjesus’ latest release is their 2003 album, Rock Music, which followed 2000’s Jet Age and 1998’s Sumo, all of which were release by major label Warner Music Australia. The band split from the label in 2004.

The group’s current lineup — Sarah McLeod, Stuart Rudd, Tim Henwood and Paul Berryman — is currently in the middle of a co-headlining tour with fellow Social Family Records act, Baby Animals.
