The White Stripes Announce 20th Anniversary Box Set For Their Self-Titled Debut Album

While wanting new music from The White Stripes is wishful thinking to say the very least, Jack & Meg White are still celebratory of their legacy – it seems – as they’ve just announced a limited edition box set to celebrate the 20th anniversary of their self-titled debut album.

Titled THE WHITE STRIPES XX, the special box set will feature a whole stack of goodies. These goodies include an LP featuring unheard live recordings from one of the band’s first shows, an LP featuring alternate and unheard takes from tracks on the record – mixed by Jack White at Third Man Studios, a 24-page archival booklet with a whole stack of images from the era as well as a DVD of two of the band’s 1999 performances.

Of course, you’ll have to be subscribed to Third Man Records’ subscription service to receive this absolutely stacked box set. The deadline to sign up to receive the box set is October 30th, 3PM AEST.

On top of all this, though, TMR have treated us to a previously-unheard cover by the band of Burt Bacharach’s ‘My Little Red Book’. Listen to that below.
