A TikTok user has offered a new perspective to Olivia Rodrigo’s ‘Drivers License’. Not the Sabrina Carpenter/Joshua Bassett kind of new perspective… Just a parody, imagining life as the guy stuck behind Rodrigo.
TikTok user and serial re-creator of songs, @jaxwritessongs shared ‘Drivers License POV: The Guy Behind Her’.
“Did she just get her driver’s license? ‘Cause I’ve been stuck behind her car. Driving three miles an hour staring at the same front yard,” she sings.
“She could just pull over, seriously it’s not that hard. This is why I moved out of the suburbs. I’m about to snap.”
The parody is flawless and almost as sonically stunning as the original, and the lyrics are of course brilliant.
“Oh god, now she’s crying. I wish she’d start driving,” she sings. “I have to pee. This is taking forever, some people got places to be.”

Olivia Rodrigo released her debut single, ‘Drivers License’ on Friday, 8th January.
She basically made streaming history immediately, going viral on TikTok before racking up tens of millions of streams (33 mil in the first five days).
Rodrigo now holds the record for most streams in a day on Spotify for any female artist and it debuted at #1 on the Billboard charts.
