Tones And I Becomes First Female Aussie Artist In Three Years To Crack The US Top 10

Tones And I‘s winning streak rages on, as this week she has become the first female Australian artist to crack the elusive top 10 of the Billboard Hot 100 with ‘Dance Monkey’.

While this week’s countdown is topped by Mariah Carey’s immortal holiday hit ‘All I Want For Christmas’, ‘Dance Monkey’ finds itself at a comfortable #9, rising four spots from last week.

It’s a pretty impressive feat considering that there’s two other Xmas songs in the top 10 – Brenda Lee’s ‘Rockin Around The Christmas Tree’ at #3 and Burn Ives’ ‘A Holly Jolly Christmas’ at #10.

The last female Australian artist to hit the top 10 was Sia in 2016 with ‘Cheap Thrills’, and Iggy Azalea before her with the Charli XCX-featuring ‘Fancy’ in 2014.

If Tones were to hit #1 in the US, it would just be the latest notch in her belt, as she currently sits atop the ARIA Charts and UK’s Official Charts.

Congrats, Tones!
