Apparently big fans of returning the favour, Toto have announced their plans to cover Weezer‘s 2001 track ‘Hash Pipe’.
A quick breakdown: a Twitter account was made ages ago to start a campaign to get Weezer to cover Toto’s massive hit ‘Africa.’ Eventually, after trying to troll fans with a cover of Toto’s ‘Rosanna’, Weezer caved and the internet went wild.
Now, SPIN is reporting that, in a recent radio interview, Toto revealed that they have plans to release a cover of ‘Hash Pipe’ and it should be online in the coming weeks. What’s more: they actually played the cover on air, though there’s no way for us to hear it right now.
In related news, Toto guitarist Steve Lukather told Music Feeds that they were trying to plan an Australian tour for 2019. Let’s hope this cover makes it on the setlist.
