Treat Your Soul To Kanye West & Mary J. Blige’s Smouldering New Anthem ‘Love Yourself’

Bluesfest 2017 legendette Mary J. Blige has joined forces with Kanye West to deliver a surging new soul banger dubbed ‘Love Yourself’ (which FYI sounds nothing like the Justin Bieber song of the same name).

Powered by the R&B kween’s driving blues vox and laced with cinematic old school Motown brass, the eerie yet uplifting track packs extra fire courtesy of a menacing verse from the one and only Yeezy.

This track sounds like it could have been plucked from the soundtrack of Marvel’s Luke Cage or Baz Luhmann’s The Get Down (sorry, I’ve been watching a lot of Netflix lately).

Lyrically, it’s also filled with a bunch of sensible relationship and general life advice, such as: “You’ve gotta love yourself if you really wanna be with someone else” and “You gotta stay open and don’t be foolish cause everybody don’t mean you well” #wisdomnuggets

The empowering anthem emerges just weeks before Blige’s thirteenth studio album, Strength Of A Woman, is due to drop. It hits shelves on Friday April 28th.
