Triple j has suffered from another major outage overnight, after “massive transmission problems” caused the station to broadcast static for a short period.
After 8pm AEST on Sunday night, listeners from across the country reported their web streams and car radios were going to static during triple j Group Music Director Richard Kingsmill’s weekly show ‘2018’.

Acknowledging the issue on Twitter, Kingsmill told listeners, “Apologies. We’ve blown a router. If I knew what one was, I would try to build it.
“But smarter people than me are trying to fix the massive transmission probs that some of you are now hearing.”

Some listeners joked about the transmission issues…

So we're not being invaded by Daleks? That's a relief.

…while Kingsmill took to Twitter to ask if people could hear him:
Just a show of hands please. How many of you can hear me at the moment?

The issue was eventually fixed, and Music Feeds has contacted triple j for comment.
The unexpected downtime comes after triple j‘s broadcast went down for over an hour in October 2017, during a scheduled broadcast of its weekly Like A Version covers segment featuring The Preatures.
