Triple J Hottest 100 2014: Live Updates & Winners

UPDATE: The Hottest 100 of 2014 winner has been announced!

Finally Australia Day is upon us, which means national youth broadcaster triple j are unveiling their Hottest 100 of 2014 countdown, revealing the 100 songs the voting public have deemed to be the best of this past year.

As is the case each year, there’s been a swag of predictions as to who will take the coveted top spot on the annual poll and further confounding speculation over the last few weeks is the now infamous social media push to get Taylor Swift into the countdown.

Triple j have thus far remained tight lipped on their reaction to the campaign, but all will be revealed today.

This year also saw a new player in the predictions/ spoilers game with Social Hottest 100. The team behind the operation analysed the votes of around 2000 punters, via their social media posts, to predict the results of the official list.

Their numbers showed Taylor Swift — should she be counted — will knock 2014’s Unearthed High winner Japanese Wallpaper completely out of the Hottest 100 of 2014 poll. Time will tell how that pans out but, to his credit, Japanese Wallpaper responded to those claims in the best way possible.

We’ll be keeping tabs on the results as they come in and will be updating this page as the Hottest 100 of 2014 is revealed. The countdown begins at midday AEDT, so keep an eye on the page and enjoy!
