Triple J’s breakfast hosts Ben Harvey and Liam Stapleton are pretty much premium tier trolls at this point, and their latest victims are none other than their commercial radio rivals.
Over the past couple of months, Ben & Liam have apparently been giving fake stories to some of the biggest shows in the country. Some of the victims include Fitzy & Wippa, 2DAYFM Breakfast, Kate, Tim & Marty and Will & Woody.
In fact, apparently Liam has even called up to Triple J, under the alias of ‘Jake’.
“We love radio so much, we just want to be on it all the time,” Ben said on air. “Sometimes I’ll go home after work, have a little nap, wake up, put the radio on and I’ll call up another station.”
“I’ve even been on triple j a few times under different names,” Liam admits. “I call through as Jake sometimes.”
Liam also said that Ben won $50 off another drive show.
This isn’t their first foray into pranks, having snuck two doppelgangers of themselves into the 2018 ARIA awards. On top of that, just recently Liam pretended to be a Triple J producer so he could meet the Arctic Monkeys, who were being interviewed on Veronica & Lewis’ arvo shift.
