Tropical F*ck Storm Are Releasing A Movie Next Month

Tropical Fuck Storm, the chaotic supergroup made up of Gareth Liddiard (The Drones, Springtime), Fiona Kitschin (The Drones), Erica Dunn (MOD CON, Harmony) and Lauren Hammel (High Tension), will make their cinematic debut in the self-produced film, Goody Goody Gumdrops.

Goody Goody Gumdrops is set over three days on the banks of the Goulburn River in Central Victoria (aka TFS HQ). Produced and directed by TFS along with Nina Renee, the film was inspired by Australian Westerns such as Wake In Fright, The Cars That Ate Paris and Picnic at Hanging Rock.

Goody Goody Gumdrops is premiering on Wednesday, 8th December. It’ll be streaming worldwide on Mandolin and showing in select cinemas for one night only. You can get your tickets for the stream now. Australian viewers can also buy some special Good Goody Gumdrops/TFS merch.

Just four cinemas are showing Goody Goody Gumdrops on the evening of 8th December: Theatre Royal, Castlemaine, VIC; Thornbury Picturehouse, Thornbury, VIC; Luna Cinema, Leederville, WA; and Golden Age Cinema And Bar, Sydney, NSW.

According to the official synopsis, Goody Goody Gumdrops is an “absurd, comic observational musical documentary cum live album launch for Tropical Fuck Storm’s new album Deep States.Deep StatesTropical Fuck Storm’s third album, came out in August 2021 via TFS Records and Joyful Noise Recordings.

“There is an acoustic performance at dusk on the banks of The Goulburn River with the film climaxing in a wild unhinged rock show in the barn,” the band said in an official statement. “There’s laughter and tears, great wisdom and beers.” Check out the trailer below.
