Earlier today one of Australia’s biggest artists Chet Faker caused a stir by announcing that he would no longer be making music under the moniker that he’s become famous for, and would instead revert to calling himself by his actual name: Nick Murphy.
The news has resonated pretty well with most fans, with many tweeting their support for Murphy’s decision.
you could call yourself big strong greg and i'd still bump to whatever you're gonna release next my guy

Oh, RIP @Chet_Faker. Welcome Nick Murphy, I'm looking forward to watch you. I trust you as an artist.#chetfaker #nickmurphy

However, the decision couldn’t have come at a better time for a bunch of other musicians, who have all co-incidentally decided to change their own respective names to “Chet Faker” as of today.
Sydney singer-songwriter and producer Andy Bull, Melbourne producer Braille Face and Brisbane party-rock outfit Dune Rats have all rushed to claim the now-vacated “Chet Faker” monicker as their own.
Hi all, I'm changing my name to Chet Faker
