In one fell swoop, AJ Maddah has dashed the hopes of many waiting for the second Soundwave 2014 lineup announcement, revealing that vocalist Chino Moreno is otherwise committed during the month of February, ruling out both Deftones and Palms for a spot on next year’s Soundwave lineup.
In response to a tweet regarding the involvement of either band, Maddah responded that Moreno will be moving house late February, which is either a terrible coincidence or a brilliant excuse.
The band were in town not too long ago, prior to the release of their latest album Koi No Yokan, though considering their support act for that tour, Letlive, made their way onto the Soundwave 2014 bill there were high hopes the same would happen for the ‘Tones.
Palms, on the other hand, were a high potential before today. The newest project featuring Moreno released their self-titled debut effort back in June and have seen demand skyrocket ever since.
The second Soundwave 2014 lineup announcement is expected to arrive in October.
