Punters attending last night’s Triple J One Night Stand in Mildura had already been delighted by the likes of Dan Sultan, RÜFÜS, and Violent Soho — each of whom had their own set of special guests — and were in the midst of a stellar performance from Illy when a man with a uke took the stage.
As Project U report, the ARIA award-winning rapper had been teasing some special guests throughout his set, and punters were more than happy to see an appearance from Drapht, who joined Illy on YoYo, but they were enraptured when one James Keogh, better known as Vance Joy, came on stage to help out on a hip-hop remix of his Triple J Hottest 100-topping smash Riptide.
In addition to Keogh taking time from his national tour to bring a little extra joy to Mildura punters, Magic Dirt‘s Raúl Sánchez joined Brisbane distortion-lovers Violent Soho, there was a Kingswood appearance during Sultan’s set, and Nicole Millar was there to join RÜFÜS during Unforgiven.
