Watch Arctic Monkeys Cover The White Stripes’ ‘The Union Forever’ In Detroit

In support of their new and somewhat divisive album Tranquility Base Hotel & Casino, Arctic Monkeys played in Detroit on Wednesday night.

The English rockers took on classic Detroit band, The White Stripes, midway through their set at the Masonic Temple Theatre, with frontman Alex Turner announcing, “We’re gonna do a little White Blood Cells for a little Detroit spirit,” before getting into a rendition of ‘The Union Forever’.

Turner added his own vibes to the song with added keys and bass giving it a harder feel, and of course making it unique with his strange-yet-soothing vocals.

Arctic Monkeys also covered a Strokes classic ‘Is This It’ in their hometown of New York recently.

Watch them take on The White Stripes’ ‘The Union Forever’, below.
