Watch Black Lips Crash “Misogynistic” Gene Simmons’ Web Q&A

News that KISS bassist and notorious lothario (if you take his word for it) Gene Simmons was making an appearance on The Huffington Post Live for a Q&A stoked the feminist fire of Black Lips. The Georgia group took the opportunity to call Simmons out while donning KISS-like face paint.

Though the majority of questions that Simmons fielded during the session came from die-hard fans, Black Lips instead called for the end of the bass player’s “misogynistic” brand of rock and roll and the surrender of his band’s fan club, the KISS Army, in what plays like a pro-wrestling promo.

“Mr. Simmons! We’re here to tell you that the day of misogynistic, sexist rock and roll is over! We call for the complete and utter surrender of the KISS Army. Lay down your guitars! Do you accept our terms of surrender?” yells guitarist and vocalist Jack Hines in the footage readers can check below.

Not one to be upstaged, Simmons responds by surrendering “entirely” and adding, “I wanted to compliment your mom for the wonderful way that she designed the decoration on the basement she lets you live in. I think it’s very attractive. I hope you get to leave your mom’s basement soon.”

The Rock and Roll Hall of Famer then gets a little cryptic, suggesting that the band “learn to speak English.” When informed that the trio are in fact a popular and critically acclaimed rock group named Black Lips, Simmons responds by questioning if they are racist – y’know, ’cause “Black Lips.”
