Eddie Vedder has treated fans to a bloody bang on rendition of one of the standout tracks from 2018’s A Star Is Born soundtrack, and no it’s not ‘Shallow’.
At Innings Festival in Arizona, where Vedder was headlining, he performed a cover of ‘Maybe It’s Time’, a track written by Jason Isbell. If you’ve seen the movie (who hasn’t?), Bradley Cooper‘s Jackson Maine performs it in the scene where Lady Gaga‘s Ally is cleaning up the drag bar where they meet.
This is particularly fitting as Cooper has said that Vedder played a big role on influencing the character.
“He gave me minor, little things that only musicians know about what to do, just aesthetically and the inner workings,” Cooper said of Vedder while promoting the film.
Isbell was also chuffed at the cover, saying it is a “huge honour.”
Holy shit Eddie Vedder sang my Bradley Cooper song in his set tonight. That is by far the strangest sentence I’ve ever composed but it’s certainly a huge honor. I was 12 when “Ten” came out and by god I learned how to play every song on it.

Cooper has lot to be happy about these days, with his all-conquering duet with Gaga ‘Shallow’ claiming the #1 spot on the US Billboard Charts today. On top of that, the song also won a Grammy for ‘Best Pop Duo/Group Performance’ and an Oscar for ‘Best Original Song.’
On top of that, the Internet is still feeling the aftershock of that stunning Academy Awards performance.
